USAC Committee Structure
USAC has five subcommittees that help in achieving the USAC mission. The five committees are: Communications, Governance, Membership Development, Outreach, and Staff Compensation & Benefits (SCBC). Each member of USAC serves on at least one of these committees, with most members serving on two. The Chair, Vice Chair, and Recorder/Treasurer may serve on any of these committees but shall not serve as Chair. It is the responsibility of the Co-Chairs to convene the subcommittees.

This group will monitor the reporting from staff members on various university-wide committees and will work toward USAC's goal of encouraging the formation of local staff advisory councils in all academic and administrative units. In addition, the group will monitor USAC by-laws and will be the focal point for any by-law/organizational suggestions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of USAC. USAC Members with university-wide appointments are automatically considered members of the Governance Subcommittee. Other USAC members may join this subcommittee upon request.
Membership Development
Co-chairs: Kate Charlesworth-Miller and Beth McCarthy
The Membership Development Subcommittee is responsible for welcoming new members to USAC and familiarizing them with USAC's goals, mission and responsibilities. This group will also be responsible for fostering a team and community orientation for USAC. New Member Orientation (in conjunction with the Vice Chair), Year-End Reception and various team-building initiatives are a few examples of membership development activities. Membership Development supports the Vice Chair in his/her role. This group is responsible for all professional development activities sponsored by USAC. In addition, members may also be called upon to assist in the coordination of special functions such as receptions, conventions, gifts, etc.

In collaboration with the Communications Subcommittee, Outreach will also be responsible for assisting with efforts to attend local Staff Advisory Council meetings and coordinate annual luncheons with these groups and USAC to discuss issues in their areas.
