USAC Postions/Committees

This year will be my second year on SCBS, serving as Co-Chair for this year and I am very excited!! I have also served on the New Member/Interview Task Force, will serve on FCBC and the Transportation Committee for the ONE University/Framework Plan.

OSU Experience

Years of Service:4
Classification: A&P
I also used to work for: Arts and Sciences as a Graduate Assistant during my Master’s Degree Program

Why I joined USAC:

There are many reasons, but here are a few: I wanted to give back to a place that has given me so much, make changes that will be positive and have lasting impacts for staff, learn more about OSU and various departments, meet people who work at this FANTASTIC University!!

Why staff should join USAC:

I have met and will continue to get acquainted with an incredible group of people who are passionate about staff advocacy and OSU. Plus, this is a great way to get involved w/ OSU outside of one’s typical work environment.

My greatest sense of accomplishment on USAC so far is:

Helping to prepare the Staff Compensation and Benefits Report for 2008 - 08, Participating in the New Interview Task Force, Serving as a Mentor to a first-year USAC Member, Moderating a panel of USAC Alumni, serving as current Co-Chair of Staff Compensation and Benefits Subcommittee

Hobbies:

Traveling w/ friends and family, scrapbooking/making photo books and anything crafty, building my online craft business, taking pictures, spending time w/my husband, family, friends and my dog Mickey, listening to music

My favorite restaurant around campus is:

I would have to say that my (current) top 3 are: Mozart’s, Hangover Easy (AWESOME Breakfast), and Catfish Biff's

My favorite OSU sport is:

Football all the way!!

I think the greatest challenge facing OSU in the future is:

Career pathing/career development, child care and staff recognition. Career-related issues will always be in need of enhancements/improvements and with more and more people having children, we need to increase the availability of our FANTASTIC child care facilities/services. Additionally, we need to look into ways to (more often) recognize those who “Do Something Great”.

I think the greatest strengths at OSU are:

Over the years I have heard about and experienced greater diversity in employees that work at OSU. There are endless resources for staff and students to enjoy all over Ohio State. PRIDE – we are all proud to study and/or work at OSU and we are always looking to continue and improve upon the tradition(s) of excellence!

Outside of my normal position, I serve OSU and my community by:

I serve OSU and my community by participating in ACADAOS, working with UAFYE to recruit talented students to OSU, volunteering with Chadwick Learning Gardens, and mentoring a child with Franklin County Children's Services.
