USAC History

The University Staff Advisory Committee was established in 1986 as an advisory body to the University President. Its mission is to maintain an active and participatory line of communication with the University community and to provide a forum through which university staff can raise, discuss, and make recommendations on non-academic issues. Since USAC was established, many staff issues and concerns have been addressed. USAC acknowledges the assistance of other campus groups, University administration officials and others who have supported/championed the following actions.

USAC Membership

USAC is comprised of 30 members from Classified Civil Service, Unclassified Administrative and Professional, and Senior Administrative and Professional. Every year, 10 members rotate off and 10 new members are selected to join USAC. Each member serves a 3-year term.

USAC Major Accomplishments

Over the years, USAC has initiated and supported many of the University's initiatives and activities. These have create a positive change for staff at the University. Since USAC was established, many staff issues and concerns have been addressed. USAC Structure

USAC has five subcommittees that help in achieving the USAC mission. The five committees are: Communications, Governance, Membership Development, Outreach, and Staff Compensation & Benefits (SCBC).

USAC ByLaws

The USAC Bylaws govern the general operation of the Committee from the mission statement, membership and meetings to officers' duties and elections. The Bylaws fall under the purview of the Governance subcommittee for interpretation and amendment as needed.
