What department / college / unit do you work in? Office of Student Life

How long have you worked at OSU? Nine years. I spent my first 4 years as a program coordinator for Buckeye Careers. I have been with Student Life Marketing for 5 years.

In your own words, describe your job here at Ohio State. In my role as Marketing Specialist, I have the pleasure of leading marketing strategy for several departments, including Student Philanthropy (BuckeyeThon), Ohio Union Activities Board, Development, Center for Belonging and Social Change, Disability Services and Student Advocacy. It is very rewarding to be a part of promoting the remarkable work being done by my colleagues in the Office of Student Life.

What do you love most about Ohio State? My favorite thing about Ohio State is all the amazing people. I learn and grow each day from my interactions with our amazing faculty, staff and students.

What is your favorite memory as a staff member at Ohio State? One of my favorite memories is when many staff members would gather in the Ohio Union, form a tunnel and cheer for the students of BuckeyeThon as they headed into the 24-hour Dance Marathon. It was such a high-energy, inspiring experience. The students worked all year to raise money in support of children with pediatric cancer and blood disorders at Nationwide Children's Hospital and the Dance Marathon is their final event of the year.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising and making delicious tea blends.

What is something that most people don’t know about you? I used to work as a newspaper reporter.

What is your favorite quote, TV show, movie, or book? One of my favorite books that helps me navigate difficult situations is “The Four Agreements” by Miguel Ruiz.
