Steven Mentz

Steven Mentz is what we call a “boomerang” employee – he has explored opportunities outside of Ohio State but always found his way back. He has 11 years with The Ohio State University – serving five years as Executive Assistant in the University Registrar’s Office and Office of Research, and the past six years in Human Resources as an HR Associate with the Office of Academic Affairs, a Talent Management Consultant with the Office of Human Resources, and currently as an HR Consultant providing HR support to the College of Public Health.

Steven earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University in 2009 and his Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) from The Ohio State University in 2022.

In addition to his current position at Ohio State, Steven serves as a Staff Senator on the University Senate and Senate Fiscal Committee, as well as a member of the MHRM Advisory Board for the Fisher College of Business.

In Steven’s free time, he enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, taking midday naps, and exploring all that the City of Columbus has to offer.
