LinkedIn Learning:  All Ohio State faculty and staff have free access to LinkedIn Learning, an industry leader in online training. With a digital library of more than 18,000 courses covering a wide range of topics, this is an opportunity for you to grow your career skills and explore other personal interests. You get 24/7 unlimited access from any device to learn at your own pace. 

John Glenn MAPS Courses: offers training seminars that build management and leadership skills for top executives, mid-level managers, first-line supervisors, and administrative support staff. Skill-building sessions are available for employees at all levels.

Boost Leader Program: a cohort-based development opportunity designed for new or early-career people leaders. The program will strengthen your foundational managerial and leadership knowledge, skills and abilities. Previously called the Advancing Managers Program, Boost is offered three times per year, during autumn, spring and summer. Space is limited and offered first-come, first served.

Connect Leader Program: The Connect Leader Program (Connect) empowers you to advance relationships with the people you lead by building your communication skills and improving engagement in your team. Topics and resources center on employee well-being, developing talent and high-performing teams, and increasing engagement. Y

Leadership Series: Team Operating Systems: a monthly leader development program to apply leadership and organizational concepts and strengthen the community of leaders across campus. You will be introduced to core organizational concepts and complementary leadership competencies, as well as build a network of peer leaders, through monthly virtual sessions and quarterly in-person sessions focused on reflection and collaborative application.  

Ohio Leadership Center Workshops

Women's Place Staff Leadership Series: focuses on experiential leadership skill building and development for Ohio State staff. To help achieve The Women's Place (TWP) goal of expanding opportunities for women's growth, leadership, and power at the university, the year-long SLS will expand leadership capacity; facilitate skills development to help staff become more effective, innovative and inclusive leaders; and create a pool of potential staff leaders from groups that have been traditionally underrepresented in key leadership roles.

Staff Professional Development Funds: In partnership with the University Staff Advisory Committee (USAC), Human Resources offers the funds to staff who are interested in pursuing professional development over the next year.

Critical Differences: Staff Professional Development Grants: Professional Development Grants are designed to facilitate professional development and career mobility of employees and students. Faculty and staff who have been continuously employed at Ohio State for at least one year; full-time undergraduate students at the sophomore level and above; and full-time graduate/professional students are eligible to apply for a Professional Development Grant. Grants up to $1,500 will be awarded to Faculty/Staff. Students are eligible for up to $1,000.

ASC Staff Professional Development Grants: The Arts and Sciences Staff Advisory Council (SAC) supports professional enrichment or development opportunities and specialized activities that advance or re-focus the development of skills.
