Matt Busser

Matthew Busser is an HR Consultant supporting the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. With more than 15 years of human resources experience, primarily in state and local government, he is committed to helping employees maximize the benefits, resources, and professional development opportunities available to them.  A strong advocate for employee well-being, he has chaired the Glenn College Wellness and Mental Health Committee and served as a Buckeye Wellness Innovator, promoting programs that encourage healthy lifestyles. In 2025, he partnered with the Your Plan for Health team to launch Take a Walk with an American Hero, a university-wide step challenge inspired by the legacy of Senator John Glenn, which attracted more than 5,000 employee registrations.

Matthew earned master’s degrees from The Ohio State University and Ohio University, as well as a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University. Outside of the office, he enjoys traveling with his wife, their two children, and Tilly, the family’s Cavapoo. An avid runner, he is pursuing the Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Medal, having already completed the Berlin, New York City, and Chicago Marathons, with the London Marathon next on his calendar in 2027.
